A week ago today one of my good friends had a sweet baby boy name Brody. I feel like it took forever for him to get here but he was actually a little early. We were all so excited to meet him. This is one of the greatest part of my job, getting to take care of or seeing good friends at the best time of their life. I didn't get to take care of her b/c i was on Pedi but did visit her both day she was there. Sweet Brody and his mom, one of my favorite people, and of course his dad live about an hour away from where we work and i live. I hope to be taking a few road trips to see them and also told her she better call when they are in town!

This was taken the night sweet Brody was born. All the ladies we work with!
The next day i came by to visit before they went home. Had to take a pic with the new mom, baby and me!

You would have thought Brody would be used to the flash of a camera. But this was the face he made when i took a picture of him sleeping! OMG i love him! This is not a HIPAA violation...my friend is ok with me posting about them. haha! Just incase someone was worried about it!

Fair Week!

Last week was fair week. I think everyone no matter what age always becomes a kid again during fair week. I do not get on any rides, I just enjoy the food and entertainment. It started not this past Saturday but the one before that. Lasts a week! The first Saturday of the Fair The Sweet Man had tickets to the demolition derby. I was scheduled to work so he just invited some guy friends. Then i got put on call so I got to join the guys. If you have not experienced the demolition derby, before you judge, you should go to one. I heard one of my mom's friends call it the "Redneck Rodeo" and that is soo true. It is soo very redneck but it is a lot of fun to watch. You just have to embrace it. This is the only picture I took that night. Too bad i didn't get a picture of the guys b/c they were like little boys so excited. It was pretty funny!

Picture taken with iPhone. These were the last 3 cars. They all got stuck together so they were pulling them apart!

Then last Thursday was Rodeo night. I secretly want to be a Rodeo Queen. I love it and always have. I asked for a horse as a child probably 5 times a year. Never seemed to get one. My Parents said we didn't have anywhere to put it. The Sweet Man says one day we will possibly get one. But I think my Rodeo Queen days will probably be over then. :) Before the Rodeo my family and the sweet man walked around to find our favorite fair food to eat. Me and Ash enjoying the food at the fair ready for the Rodeo

On Friday we left for Fayetteville. We always love staying with the Penningtons. They have a dog so we get to take sweet Lottie. We went to a charity event with them. The sweet little puppy in Suz's arms they actually won. Cute little Kevin They realized a new puppy wasn't for them, so in less then 24 hrs they found a good home for the sweet little thing!

Football FUN....

Mann.... How about those HOGS! Yes, I know we didn't win but we played a great game. We always mess those certain play up. 24/20 to the #1 team in the country isn't too bad. And they didn't do anything really until the last quarter. How amazing it would have been if we would have won. But we are still proud of those Hogs. And i loved getting to visit all my favorite people, minus a few that i didn't get to see. Football weekends or always crazy busy weekends!

At common grounds for brunch before the game. So glad I got to see this lovely face! Miss you so much! Trip to Nashville has got to be in the works soon!

me and Jordan

In all my years as a college student at the U of A, I never saw the bus with the band, Cheerleaders and Tusk I, II, or III. Unit now!

I also never stood in line like this as a student. This is crazy. We heard on the news or TV that on Thursday night there were 30-40 tents up with people camping out.

As a student at UofA, for those that don't know, you can buy tickets to all the games for a $1 game, that was the cost when i was there. The good seats are first come basis. I was always in the upper deck since i didn't get in line early. Then we thankfully got season tickets!

My besties at my "favorite tailgate." I stopped by to see MK and then Scarlet and Caitlin walked up. Then not 10 min later Jordan and her sister were there. Like I said. Somehow we all just meet up at this tailgate to see the family!
Me, Mary Kate, Caitlin, Scarlet

My first time to meet Sweet baby Alex. His parent are good friend of mine and the Sweet Man but live about 3 hrs from us!
I want one!!!

The Sweet Man and me
(After soonone spilled there drink all over him, me and sweet alex's head)

Look at all that Red! We played a really good game. Just wish it could have ended better!

This was the kid in front of us! Loved it!
Oh how I miss Fayetteville! We had such a great weekend. A very fast one but it was a lot of fun. Early games are hard b/c you don't have time to hang out too long before the game and then after the game everyone is so tired and everywhere is sooo busy.

Ready for the next one!

WOO PIG....

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR.... Football, Friends, and Tailgating FUN!

This is the time of year that i miss Fayetteville the most. Although The Sweet Man and I try to make it to Fayetteville for all the big games, its just sad not to be there for all of them. Only 2 more days until we are back in Fayetteville with all of our friends to cheer on the HOGS! Something about college towns and football.... BIG DEAL~ but i feel Arkansas it is even more . Maybe b/c UofA is the only major college in Arkansas.
I was looking back at old pictures and had to share fun tailgating pics. Hope you enjoy. Hopefully will have new ones to post when we get back in town!

Our friends had us a tailgate shower last year. It was actually the weekend before our wedding. I might have been a little stressed! But was so fun....and so thoughtful!

My girls at the tailgate/shower!
This is my most favorite family to tailgate with. Most of my college years were spent at this tailgate, and will still always have to stop by. I hope one day i will bring my little ones to this tailgate with me. Oh.... how I love this family.
At the same favorite tailgate as above... at a different time.. maybe even different year.

Pretty sure this is at the same favorite tailgate too. We seem to always all meet up here!

Many of both, mine and The Sweet Man's, friends have moved off but we all seem to come back together during this time. It is always a blast. Can't wait....

Summer Shows...

So... I am really not much for watching TV. I know kind of crazy... but i don't just sit around watching whatever is on or listening to music. Just not that type of person. BUT.... DVR is the best thing ever! I do have to admit that I am slightly addicted to All My Children! Yes, many are thinking that show that grandmother watched. YES...my grandmother also watched it... AND I LOVE IT. I finally met someone that loves it just as much as me. She actually a little crazier b/c she watched all 3 that are on ABC. We lived together in college and would just sit and play all the one DVR'd (if that's even a word) that day. Man how I miss her. We did get a lot of friends watching them. And some hated them... :) We would talk about the characters and call them by name. Many people thought we were talking about someone real. Too funny. The Sweet man will sometime say "Is this is real person or someone on All My Children." Anyway... so this summer i got major hooked on a few shoes... The Bachelor Pad and Big Brother. I did talk about Big brother on my previous post. I am not sure if anyone else watched these but i love them and going to miss them so much.

The Bachelor Pad..... It has all the favorites from the passed seasons of the Bachelor and Bachelorette. They all played against each other. The boys voted off the girls, and girls voted off the boys. They would compete and then get to pick a few people to go on a date and give a rose to that person. They would both be safe. I thought it was going to be stupid.. BUT ENDED UP LOVING IT. In the end the played by couples. I sooooo wanted Tinley and Kipton to win but didn't work out that way. So sad! I think she and I would be friends in real life...Can't wait until next season... not sure if there is one or how they will do it b/c all the favorite were on this one!

Next... BIG BROTHER... I have loved this for many years. I really really really want to be on it. I never thought I would ever be picked until this year and girl, Kathy, from my home town was on it. No i do not know her. But i will say she is a cop on my side of town. Anytime i pass a cop car i am like looking in it so i can meet her. Also another girl, Brittney, she was my favorite, is from Arkansas. Is from a small town near Fayetteville. She and her soon to be hubbie had a house in Little Rock.. It actually burnt down the day of of Big brother...very sad b/c her family didn't tell her b/c there wasn't anything she could do. So weird for me to have known about her house burning down before she even did and watching her on TV when she didn't even know.

This is Brittney.. my fav. And soo crazy, i could totally meet her one day b/c she talks like she goes to Fayetteville all the time for football game. Seems to be a pretty big HOG fan! I will be on the look out for her this weekend and the game!!!

This is Kathy. She is the cop from my town. I will always be looking for her. I was trying to decide if i do see her if it is weird to ask her take a picture with me. B/c she really isn't a celebrity but kind of. And if i become friends with her then maybe I can become friends with Brittney. Not sure if she and Brittney really liked each other towards the end of the game. But she is who i wear my teal toenail polish for!

Healthy Habits... Wear teal toes in Sept.

As I go through my daily blogging routine (or this time catching up on blogs) I came across many blogs talking about Sept. being Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Which reminded me. I have no idea how I haven't blogged about this yet. But i am a HUGE fan of big brother. Which the season finale ended this week (more about this later). But a lady from my home town was on it. Can you believe it. No, I do not know her... but YES, I will be on the look out for her. Anyway.. the reason she is on the show is b/c she battled Ovarian Cancer. During her chemo she said when she gets through everything she is going to be on Big Brother... and that she did. Although she didn't win, She did make it to the Jury house and she made her hometown proud. This is a picture of Kathy from Big Brother 12. Should be heading home soon!

So even though she is a survivor I will wear my teal toes for her! I thankfully have not had anyone close to me suffer this illness. But with my profession we do hear about it all the time.

So I thought i would share a little bit of info for you Healthy Habits!....

Ovarian Cancer, known as the "Silent Killer," is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States and is the fifth leading cause of cancer death among U.S. women. The American Cancer Society estimates that 21,880 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the U.S. in 2010 and about 13,850 women will die from the disease. It is an insidious disease that can strike without warning or cause. The symptoms of ovarian cancer are often vague and subtle, making it difficult to diagnose. Symptoms include:

  • Bloating

  • Pelvic or abdominal pain

  • Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly

  • Urinary symptoms (urgency or frequency)

There is no effective screening test for ovarian cancer but there are tests which can detect ovarian cancer when patients are at high risk or have early symptoms. Until we have better early detection tools, all women should be educated about the disease so they can achieve early diagnosis and successful treatment. A woman’s lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is 1 in 67. Listen to your body. Do not ignore symptoms!

1st Anniversary

Yesterday, Sept 12, The Sweet Man and I celebrated our first anniversary. Man how I feel like just yesterday I was getting ready with all of my bridesmaids ready to walk down the isle to marry the man of my dreams, my best friend. Crazy how it just flew by. I am so thankfully for the life i have been given and the wonderful husband the Lord blessed me with. I can not imagine my life without him. I was a little late on choosing the pictures i want from the wedding so i haven't gotten them back yet. But i did find of few from my family and friends to share with ya'll. Also I have post picture of us form the past year.

We spent the weekend in Little Rock with friends and returned home on Sunday, the day of our anniversary. When we got home this is what was waiting for us.

My wonderful sister had brought us flowers, champagne and a card. So sweet!

The bakerman made the exact cake from our wedding. It looks almost exactly like it. Our real cake had real pink flowers on top...funny how he made us some to put on top.
The cake tasted soo good!
The Sweet Man took a picture of me eating our cake.
Since it was a Sunday, alot of places were closed. We decided to go have dinner at the Country Club. This is where we went to eat one night in December 2008, When he asked me to marry him. Also where we held our reception. For my gift The Sweet Man bought me the dress I have on to wear for dinner that night... TO SWEET! I also go a few other things :)

This is one of my favorite Bridal portraits!

We had sooo much fun!

I had to work Thanksgiving and Valentines! One of the biggest adjustments we dealt with this year. Me working nights and him working days.
